Hunted out at Lewis&Clark refuge today, the wind and cold moved in nicely. Ended up with a mixed bag limit. Wind seemed to be the key!

Will have our final hunt at brother-in-laws farm near Woodburn, with my son, dragging my wife out kicking and screaming, and a bunch of Canby H.S. kids Sunday. Will have a nice fire and have a BBQ as we pick up all the decoys and clean up all the hulls and take down blinds in the afternoon.

Posting for Buck50 and OuhtforTrouht.

Umatilla NWR 1/25/04. Score does not indicate game. Dad's came back with a goose, boys came back with a pair of greenheads. Goodbye this season. Looking forward to Ducktober.

Yesterday was the last hunt of the year for my partner Joe and I. This is our take.

We ended up with 3 scaup, 1 ringneck hen and 2 pintail.

I shot the most beautiful pintail drake of my life yesterday. Not having a plastic bag along or time to get to the taxidermist afterwards kinda bummed me out but I'll try again next year.

Here is my 9 1/2 yr. old lab Daisy with my bird.

Next year should be better due to maybe I'll get out more and learn to hunt that new spot we found yesterday. Until ducktober comes again, fish die while the ducks fly.

Finished up Sunday with four geese, eight ducks. More ducks in the sky than we have seen all season down there. We made a lot of mistakes, kids moving around too much. But had a great time.
