Default Anyone have.....

Anyone have a big game tag to fill now? Maybe one of the late cow hunts or something. Just wondering.

Me too. I was last year. Maybe next year. I usually draw one tag a year.

Actually, yes, sort of. I have a friend who is a quadrapelegic who, through a caring rancher, has a landowner preference tag for Feb. We got him an elk year before last, and we're gonna try awfully hard to get him another one this year.

He has some mobility, i.e. he can shoot (very well, as a matter of fact) and can legally hunt from my truck as long as we're off a public road and the motor is not running. Believe me, we try to make it as fair chase as we possibly can. He wouldn't have it any other way. As an example of fair chase, last year the rancher's son and I pushed the truck so he could get a better shot and stay within the bounds of "legal fair chase." (I'm getting too old for that. So if in a couple of weeks I mention that I'm cutting up an elk, don't sic the game cops on me.

Still working on the 218J tag...looking forward to elk steaks in the near future.

This time next year holders of the 615/815 tags might still be searching for a valley blacktail.

Cow tag 211-C. HWY 30- HWY 47- Scappose Vernonia HWY. One of 25 issued. I am working the herds real hard, gonna get me one. Just waiting and working them 'til one makes a mistake and leaves me a reasonably short shot. Wow exciting.

My son has 214F2, NE Trask, ends January 31st so one more day. VERY FEW opportunities compared to past year when elk were just "standing around" in clear cuts and open timber. If anyone knows any cooperating landowners, please let me know via PM!

Thanks,
