Default Rocky Hunting Boots

Wanted to make this post to see if anyone else has had the same problem.
I purchased a pair of Rocky's last year prior to elk season. Used them that season, 1-chucker hunt last year and then this years elk season...had a seam split. I had thought Rocky's would be of better quality than this

To top it off, I had to talk the wife into letting me pay the money for a "quality" pair of boots. Prior to this she had surprised me with a $19.99 pair of hunting boots. After much debate she gave in and let me go shopping. She is now pointing out that the $19.99 probably would have lasted longer.

That sucks. I used to work in footwear & boot development(not for Rocky) and that is a major problem in customer satisfaction. You offer a one year warranty cuz if people wear em a lot that is reasonable. If people only wear them during hunting season, or a few times a year, a manufacturing defect usually cannot be detected in that small amount of use, then when you have about 2 weeks of use on them and the defect shows, the 1 year warranty is expired. It's a tough issue for companies to handle and still make money. Thus the reason Danner's lifetime warranty went bye-bye.....

Hey King, a dear friend of mine owns and operates several shoe stores in another state. Rocky is one of the brands he carries. I know for a fact that he's traded a new pair of boots out even when they've gone out of warranty and had his shoe rep make'em good. My worth is to clean them up and take them back and ask for a trade out, or at least a big discount of new ones.

They're a good company and have done the right thing in the past, hope it works out for you. If not, you can always pay $19.99.

My buddy, and I had the same problem with some Rocky mountain boots a couple of years ago. They where like a 99 dollar pair at GI Joes. It was only 2 weeks of hunting and they split on his shoes. Then another week went bye and mine did the same. We both upgraded to the next pricer (20 more bucks) and have had no issues since .

I have owned one pair of Rockys. After a few hunts the left heel started to squeek then after a year or so the right one developed a leak. Dissapointing for a 140 dollar pair of of boots. Maybe I just picked the pair that were made on a Friday, but I think I'm done with them.

Have a pair of Pro Hunters, 4 seasons now through the mud and blood and water. My feet got a little wet this year but nothing a little waterproofing wont help. Only downfall i have found is when i am walking a grassy area and the soles are real clean , gets a little sqeeky rubbing on the wet grass.

I bought my second pair of Pro hunters before last season.I got 6 years out of my first pair.By far the best most comfortable boot I have ever wore.
Light,Very waterproof.good traction.Felt like I was walking in tennis shoes.Just be careful if you step on a buckskin log.You may go for a ride real fast.
There are places you can get them way cheaper than Joes.
pm me if your interested.

King13fisher, if you can't exchange 'em (and you should try), takle 'em to a shoe repair place. But not the one in the Beaverton Fred Meyers, they suck.

I'm on my fourth or fifth pair of Rockies right now. I love them. I've always gotten the "stalkers" or whatever they call the next series that looks just like them. I wear them for work and hunting and fishing. Every pair I have had I've worn completely out. They have always been completely waterproof for me. I cannot complain one bit about them. Light, comfortable, and waterproof. Maybe not the warmest when it's really cold but I have boots for that too.

I have also had bad luck with Rocky Boots. I went to Danner Ft. Lewis for the wet cold weather and just wear White's smoke jumpers when it's not to cold. Both of these work just fine.
