Was up in the trask over the weekend, still snow on the ground. Was mixed snow and rain. My two buddies have cow tags till 3/15. He walked up on four cows - one was bedded down and the nearest. Approx 20 yards or less!! He swung down on the one bedded and shot. We are tracking this cow when we hear another shot. Well this cow went down and crossed the road and another guy shot it as well. The cow crossed a beaver pond and this guy tracked it for 3 miles. Never recovered!! Tough animal, I explained to my buddy, that a animal bedded does not give a big area of vitals, and he should have waited till it got up.. Oh, well - was a bummer. The other guy that shot the cow was crazy, he crossed the beaver pond/sleugh wet upto his crotch!!
