Fish and Birds near Sunriver?

I have not been up the road that far, but I suspect that there is around 30 inches of snow on the ground if not more. When the snow get deep enough South Centry above the intersection to La Pine is gated.

I am going to sunriver for the weekend any spots around there on public land with a good chance of finding some birds (ducks, geese, grouse, chukers) whatever? just curious if i should take the shotgun or not.

If you have a dog there's some decent jump shooting around Wickiup Resevoir if the snow isnt too bad. This time of year they draw down the water so its all in channels and you can have some good sneaks on ducks and geese there. No chukar in the area, and very few uplands.
