Default Flooring for a aluminum boat

I have a 14 aluminum boat that I need to put flooring in. If anybody has any ideas that can help me put it in I would appreciate it. I've never put a floor in an aluminum boat before. The bottom of the boat is pretty much flat. Any ideas or suggestions at all would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have a 16' Smoker that i put a new floor in. Used 3/4 plywood with a vinyl covering which you can get from Cabelas or check with the boat shops in your area. Use spray adhesive and staples to attach vinyl to plywood. For support at edges i used 1" X 1" X 16 ga. ang. If you need more info. email me and i will give you my phone number. jr

Once you put the floor down is it attached to the aluminum permanently in any way? I guess what I am saying is it setup where I can lift up the floor to drain water or clean underneath it? Thanks for your info jr sherwood.

Pop rivet to the hat sections (cross braces). Easy to remove and re-attach.

My flooring is attached to the angle with stainless steel screws, you can remove the floor as often as you like, just remove the screws. jr

I have some material that I use on my Pontoons that is already laminated poly with an aggressive pattern. Same XL Panelam that SmokerCraft puts in boats for floors. Let me know if you are interested. I do floorboard repairs in my business and could talk about different possibilities. Email me if you are interested.

I’d use marine grade plywood if it is in your budget, it will make the floor last for a lot longer. The stuff most manufacturers cover it with is called Nautolex. If you are in the Portland area you can get it from a place called Perfect Fit, http://www.perfectfit.com/. If you use screws make sure the are stainless or they will rust.
