Default Spring Bear ?

I was thinking of floating the grand ronde for spring bear. I heard of people takeing a 3 day float on the river hunting out of drift boats. They must be around Troy somewhere. I have not done any research on this yet, but I was wondering if anyone has done this and was willing to share info like when, where, how and do you do your own shuttle?

Thanks Doug

DOUGS,

I have floated the Grande Ronde in my Willie DB from the Minam river put in down to Troy. I payed for the guy at the put in to shuttle my rig. It was a great float. We were just fishing and goofing off. To hunt it you would have to stop everywhere and glass and then hike up the ridges and glass some more. Then walk back down to the boat, drift around the corner and do it all over again. Should be good for the excersise. Maybe you'll see some critters. I'd call the bear biologist for that area and tell him exactly what your planning. Maybe he's been in that area surveying big game and maybe he hasn't. Should be fun though.
