There was a thread about this not to long ago Dave. But what I have seen from club hunting especially on SI is that its a group of guys all shooting at one bird. Alot of time theres 8-10 maybe more guys shooting at one bird at times. But there are clubs out in hillsboro and cornelius area that are alot better structured for individual shooting. Make sure you do some type of research with guys hunting the place before you get into it. Hope that helps

I hunted in a club near Finley for the last few years, ending this year. Every club is different when it comes to pretty much everything - shooting singles included. The club I was in would always make sure individuals got chances to kill birds. I'm sure there are lots of clubs that bang away though. Good for them, whatever floats your boat.
This year I left the club mostly because I got really bored of hunting the same place over and over. I do wish my dad had stayed in because finding areas to hunt in the valley gets harder and harder.

My club is full of great guys, five star dining, full bath, locker room, fireplace, full kitchen, easy limits and dancing girls. Whats not to love?

Find a good group of guys and good shooting and stick with it. Also SI isn't the only place to join a club

Good killing

I started a private hunting club and try to keep it to 6 other members. I have had a few guys back out in the past just because it was hard for them to make it out with thier jobs but this is what I do. My father in law has several hundred acers. Members can hunt anywhere he doesn't have his dairy cows. He has several ditches that run throught it and we have set aside 30 acers just for duck and goose hunting. The membership fees depend on how much it cost to plant our crops and no more. We have been planting 20 acers of corn and 10 acers of wheat and oats just for goose hunting. There are pheasant to hunt and in the spring thru late summer you can polish your shooting skills on all the starlings and crows etc... you want. The cost per year has been from $200-$225 per member. You can't beat a deal like this. Last year we bought 25 pen raised birds and released them to hunt just for the sake of training our dogs. I would like to do this at least once a year with a BBQ. It was great fun to get all the members together for the day, shoot some birds, and after wards drink some brewski's and laugh it up. Next year I would like to set up a trap range and I'm looking into planting quail. If I ever get an opening and anyone is interested please let me know. If I take in new members I would have to know by April and fees would be due no later than the end of May. I also have a private place to launch a boat for duck hunting the Columbia, one of the only ones on Puget Island.
