SI 12/19 report

Sauvies was veryyyyyyyy slow today. 2 hunters pulled chips on the westside this morning, and both were boats going to Crane. I got out there in the afternoon with David (dcgrav) and shot 5 teal. Not much bird action going on. Looks like it will be slow for a while.

Made our way out to the eastside today about 12:45. Got on Mudhen and dropped 3 spoonies, 1 pinnie, 1 suzie, and a scaup. Had some 80 yard skybusters all around us making it difficult.

I was out on the eastside today with my brother. Got there at about 10:00am and we shot 12 mallards and 2 pinnies. Lots of birds flying, but also a lot of skybusters. We were done by 2pm.

Should have been great, instead it was terrible. Why in the world do the wanna be, dip $hits have to take week days off to hunt???? It must be christmas break. I thought I was at summer lake on opening sunday. I have never had so little fun watching hundreds of mallards. It was pathitic. And when we finally got things to go our way, we shot 6 ducks, and then another "hunter" and his buddy decided to cut off our swing. Completely ending any chance we had of killing birds other that those coming on a straight line. Pathetic. Thanks for letting me vent.

where were you hunting at "thehunt"? Eastside I take it, with the sound of that report.

theslayer, I was in Rentnaur(sp) a unit that I love, especially on a day like yesterday. It was just a shame to have people around me who's idea of duck hunting is so skewed. I watched a man shoot at least two boxes of shells in two hours, his lowest shot was about 40, his highest was at least a hundred. He killed one duck and sent another to die somewhere else. It was just plain pathetic, the kind of guy that gives us all a bad name. Okay, I will stop now.

Bret, I won't be over it until I go out and have another good hunt like the rest of my season. It was my most recent, therefore the freshest in my mind. Although the 16 geese we got on sunday was pretty darn SWEEEEEEEET.

hahaha yeah man I know what you mean when people screw up your hunts out on the island. Ive had it numerous times and I know it will happen again, year in and year out. Hopefully you have good hunts to come the rest of the year.
