COOP:::: I am by no way an expert at yote hunting, but have baged a couple. Mouth calls work fine if ya know how to use them, but me I use an electronic caller. as for firearms to use there are many that will do the trick. In centerfire I prefer my Win Mod. 70 youth ranger in .243 with a 100 grain handloaded bullet, that is my Deer load also. I also use a Ruger 10/22 in 22 Mag. it will work I belive out to about 75 yds and then I don't think it has enough power to make clean kills. I have been known to use a Moss Berg 12 Gauge ulti Mag. with the turkey choke in it with #4 or #2 lead shot. Could not say about this side of the moutians, since I hunt over east. Have fun with the yotes.

Here is a link to a message board that is full of serious varmint hunters. A lot of great info on reloading/balistics as well. The search feature is ok, so it might take a little digging.

I use the Sceery cottontail and jackrabbit calls (rubberized barrels don't rattle and clank together).
Rifles run the gammot. Not a bounty that I'm aware of so unless YOU want the pelts, any hunting rifle works. Personally I like the .223 because its not too expensive, super accurate, and doesn't tear them up with decent bullets (tnt hollowpoints and ballistic tips usually don't exit from any angle, just fragment).
Faster guns like the 22-250,220 Swift, .243, etc reach out beyond 300 yards but usually exit, leaving a nasty exit hole.
Hope this helps.
