T-Bay Crabbing 12/17

Slipknot and his partner in crime Steve asked me out on a crab trip. What a great day. It was sunny, cool (40') and quite windy (out of the east). The swells were breaking over the jetties and the entire bar was white with foam.

We got onto the water at about 9 AM and headed out. We dropped nine pots. We had the best luck on the north side of the bay. We had our 36 crabs in about 2 hours. We began to only keep the 7"+ monsters. Most were heavy. Nice to be able to pick and choose a bit and not have to scratch out a limit.

Great day with good friends. Thanks a ton. And boy were they god eating.

Hey Snug, thanks for the report, we are crabbing on the 21st and I will use the info you provided, we crabbed the day before Thanksgiving and got 43 for the crew, about 85% hard. We set our traps down the south channel, not so good, a few south of crab harbor and did our best on the south jetty just before the turn after the hour glass, we will place our first set on the north side of the bay as you suggested, thanks, Arima Billy

I was out today (just posted a couple of pics) and I also noticed the best results on the north side.
