Default C\'mon Dogs throw me a bone!

Since I heard the glum reports about the steelhead fishing I figure we might do a little clamming this weekend. I have some friends driving all the way out from Idaho (1200miles round trip!!). It would make our weekend to find some steamers in either Newport or Waldport.

Any hot tips? Please PM me!!

Thanks in advance!

Turn left at HW97 and drive south to Klamath Falls. Pick me up and I'll show you the way to the longrange docks in Sandy Dego.

It's been a while, but I seem to remember doing some clamming out behind the HMSC at low. Just go down the road to the boat launch in south beach, only don't turn into the boat launch parking lot, keep going straight to the end of the road. Then look off the road to the right.

I may be mixing it up with Florence though. This was back in college, 1992. Can anyone help my mixed up memories? Must be too much amber tide back then.

Lately we do our clamming up at Garibaldi near Tillamook. Go to the parking lot across the street from the CG house, cross the tracks on the path and go to the mud flats. You can buy oysters out there too to top it off.

Be careful though - we ended up getting a choc lab like pup last time from the house near the parking lot.

Have fiends who tell me the daylight tides are making for some good clamming at Long Beach, Washington right now.
