Default Hanging Waders

Show us how you hang up your waders at the end of the day so they air out, keep their shape, and dry out.

I have a heated basement with a section of open beams in my storage room. I took a piece of heavy cardboard, like a microwave or refrigerator box, and screwed it to the beams with some sheetrock screws and fender washers. The cardboard spans three joists and has two holes cut in it big enough for the boots to pass through and small enough to hold them in.

A small folding party table sits underneath them that holds my Peet boot dryer. Since the extensions the dryer comes with are too short, I cut some 2" ABS to length and used that reach the feet. The ABS fits the Peet boot dryer and fittings perfectly. A little hokey, but it was cheap and it works.

I hang them up in a heated room until dry on the exterior and then I purchased a boot drier which I have used for 8 years and no problems.

2 peices of wood cut with a U shape just the same size as the ankles on the waders with foam adhesive around the wood so they dont tear up after many uses. hang them upside down and the boots are the same thing right next to them.

Here is a pic of what I use to hang them up when the need to be hosed and brushed off then drip dried before they hang over the heaters. 3" ABS pipe and fittings.

Great idea! I'd make one if I still had my lug soled waders.

Hey Phil,

I just hang them in from the ceiling in my garage. I use a coat hanger. The temperature around the ceiling in my garage is always warmer than below. Waders have always dried up in time for another trek the next day.

When are we floating again???

I usually just leave them on, makes me feel like I'm still hunting..... Incoming!!!

But I really like Activpop's setup, that's an even better idea and one my wife will likely find more acceptable.
