Default inappropriate sites replacing ifish browsing window

I have had this website pop up and replace my ifish browsing window three times in the past week on two different computers. What are you doing to resolve this issue? https://chaturbate.com

Me too. Now I am afraid it might pop up when my grandson is playing games on my tablet.

Hey guys,

We're working on getting these blocked. The problem is every time we block it, they change the address slightly and get through. I've sent that one to be blocked. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I would call it more than an inconvenience. It has been a week and keeps happening. https://chaturbate.com/?join_overlay...campaign=Pjb30

Thanks, those have been reported. We're working on changing the verification process on this site to try stop these. Again, I know it's more then an inconvenience, but we are doing everything we can to get this issue fixed.

I haven't been seeing it on chrome with the extension that converts the webites to the https before it will connect (?) Mod, is that a possible solution?

The chaterbate redirects were sneaking in with one of our ad services. We've moved everything to one service now, and they should be gone. If you are still getting them, let us know.

As for https, that's going to be added to the site soon, though no official ETA

Nope, you haven't purged the Chaturbate redirect. I just got it at 8PM Pacific Daylite Time. You need to get this handled very soon or nobody with kids or standard morals is going to utilize the site.

Hey guys,

Next time it happens can you grab the URL and send it to us. We changed the verification process on this site, but it seems they are still getting through.

Was it for chaturbate as well?

If you see them again can you grab the URL?

Here's the url you requested. Just hit me at 5:48. Given how long this has been going on, I suspect the ownership of iFish isn't really very upset about it.

Hi,

Thanks alot for reporting this, I've sent this to our tech team to get blocked. We are working on getting these blocked, we're testing/contacting the different ad providers we deal with to see if any of them are causing this issue. Unfortunately this is taking longer then we'd like.

Hey guys,

I sent those links to be blocked. Once again please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and frustration this has caused you. Our techs are working on a permanent fix to put an end to these vulgar redirects. Please keep posting URLS if you come across them again - thanks.

We thank you once again for your continued patience on this matter.

I just got it again, seems like it has been going on for a long time now. Perhaps it is time to ditch the ad services you are using and find some new ones that don't spam the site with inappropriate redirects...

Here's the latest link.

I penned and erased a response to this thread earlier, but I'm about done with this site for a while, if this issue can't be resolved.

If you guys are serious about getting this dealt with, you might think of putting out a notice, or making some announcement beyond having this discussed in a thread only to be found after scrolling through the rest of the Ifish directory, and clicking on Ifish Help Desk. There was a recent thread in LIG about this topic, called "Redirection?". Surprisingly, or not, nobody addressing this issue chimed in to say what you are doing to fix this issue, or ask for help in tracking the URL. Each time Chaturbate.com has popped up on my screen, I shut Ifish down immediately. I didn't know what it was and I wasn't inclined to copy and paste the URL.

Anyway, it popped up a few minutes ago. Here's the path...
https://chaturbate.com/?join_overlay...campaign=Pjb30

Good luck, and I hope you find a solution to this.

Thank you for taking the time to report this. Though it may not feel like it, it is appreciated. Tech is continuing to dig in to this for a resolution.

I have taken your suggestion and put a notice up about this ongoing issue.

As for the thread in LIG, we only monitor this support section. I have found that thread and posted a reply with a link here for further reports as well.

Could it quite possibly be the user has an "Adware" on their computer.

It could be possible and members should be checking their computers regularly for adware/malware (MalwareBytes is hot in the streets these days) but this seems to be another issue.

We received word some tweaks were made, can everyone clear their cache and cookies and let us know if you still see the redirect?

Thanks,
- Jb

Thought this was taken care of but it just happened again.

I didn't stay on the link long enough to copy it.

Honestly, it is pretty ridiculous that this is still a thing.

For the record, I do use malwarebytes, adaware and some other virus thing.

It HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE USER.

I think admins are playing wack-a-mole try to block evolving addresses.

I've *never* seen the problem but I block all ads. Simple...

Google "javalink Injection by hyperlink". A user probably created the issue unwittingly and until you clean your cache, cookies and history it will just continue to pop up on you.

The sources you recognize but that is just my 2 cents. There is a whitehat that gives ted talks educating about hackings. He has a lovely story about one of his friends that went jail for inserting JavaScript into his MySpace account to add friends.

When someone visited his account, that person would be automatically friended, then the JavaScript would be added to the new friend, along with everyone on their friends list would automatically be added to his friends list. Over the course of a weekend he friended everyone on MySpace.

So now if you do read a few articles about javascripting a hyperlink, search iFish for some of the coding language. You will find a lot of hyperlinks have javascript in it. There seems to be a pattern of those who are experiencing this issue. I bet if you retrace their footsteps on threads they have visited, you will find the corrupted JavaScript.

This problem is not only isolated to iFish, other forums are having the issue as well, along with websites that allow user comments. In some of the help forums for ad services you will find that the ad service can not find the problem with their ads. As an example a Montana tourism website had a version of this corrupted JavaScript on their site.

Hyperlinking is akin to researching. Their are 1st source and then those that reference to the 1st source. You may end up where you want, some just has excess baggage added to it that you are completely unaware of.
