Default Depoe Bay 4/16/2017

7:30 am Depoe Bay bar is unrestricted, , yes to first outing of 2017. Boat checked out at Hagg Lake and no fuel issues. Headed north only to find three solid strings of commercial crab pots in 50 to 90 feet of water. Finally decided to squeeze in between and set pots in 60 feet of water. Moved out to 100 feet of water and Matt hits a 36 inch ling on first drop. Ocean was awesome, fish were biting and blood on the deck. Definitely a April bite just about anywhere we fished. Crabs were solid and full of meat and surprised to get any between all the pot that were around us! Nice to see a few whales and even two kayaks catching fish.

Only eight, but great shape. I now have fresh bass carcass for bait holder and should do better. Chicken in Matts trap did the best, go figure!

The Oregon Rockfish Classic is in July. Dunno about anything right now. Depoe and Pacific City are pretty popular launch points for kayaking in the ocean.

Awesome and nice to see an unrestricted bar and you guys fishing! I love fishing from my SeaDoo GTX and have an extra GTX for anyone wanting a little more range on the ocean. You guys already have the right gear for this type of fishing. I'm a paraplegic, left shoulder replaced, right shoulder failing, left hand needs surgery and crap getting old sucks! Might just sell the NR and do just the personal water craft fishing! Tuna fishing is the only reason I would keep the NR boat. Matt's Yamaha pwc will see the corner this year with his new setup! I'm to old and too far for me in my pwc, but NR is fine.

Being a paraplegic for 45 years. I had to make changes in my life in regards to sex. My dear friend came up with this name and slapped it on my boat without my knowledge. If you look the name up on a browser, it's a queer dinosaur on Jurassic Park. Have gotten a lot of smiles, pictures and pointed fingers at my boat name. Just got back from the doctors office and health issues are not good. My body is failing with age, I have had a very good life with lots of success. I just have to shift gear and slow down a little.
