Hi Dan: I could possibly join you Thursday morning. What time were you planning on being out there?

I was going to try to make it this morning and wasn't able to make it out. I may still try for this afternoon, though.

BTW I am a stickler for safety and would appreciate the chance to meet another ifish member.

I was out there monday, and I usually try to get out 4 or 5 times at Sauvie Is..Please note that the number of hunters has been changed from 100 to 75!! I got 2 (out if four) currently working labs. The younger 1 year old ***** (Lean Mac) did well but didn't get on a bird. I use these put and take hunts as ideal dog training and getting into shape events. I wouldn't mind getting together and work on your right or left. The dogs are trained year round and active in the AKC hunt test program and e-collars are used.

Hey, I just re-read my post and see the ***** where I refer to my female dog! I guess this is not a dog oriented site. But I understand anyway.

I havenot hunted Sauvies for chickens, I usally go to EE Wilson for the early hunt.

Is it open daily? and is it a self check in?
Like EE do they release birds on wed. sat and sunday? Pepper would love to chase chickens, and get ready for all the fun this fall.

Jet yes it is open daily and it is similar to EE Wilson in that they release birds a couple times a week. The check in station are at Willow Bar and i believe they have one at the East Side Check station as well. As Tilla mentioned they have lowered the number of hunters so they may be monitoring check in more closely. I hope to play hookie for a little while this afternoon and will let you know how it turns out.

Metalhead, not the same litter. This one is only a year old. Lean Mac breedings are all over the place. The breeding was done by Butch Higgins who is now in Ranier. She is my wife's project dog in the AKC hunt test program and has huge drive (stubborness). A few months ago I was throwing ducks for a gun station at a Junior AKC Hunt test when my wife brought the pup to the line to run a pair of single marks. After watching the dog run around like a house afire and pick up the duck the gunner turned to me and said "Lean Mac?". I guess there is something about the breeding.

Tilla, I have a *****(Lean Mac) as well, that I got from Justine Time kennels she is one of Ace's pups and is now will be 3 years old in May. Is your dog from this litter as well?

I have never hunted Pheasants with her, just ducks. She is a smaller lab than my other two but she makes up for it in drive.
