Default Spring Snow Geese in Oregon

I think I'm headed South. Anyone shot with David Vanerrs G&V Outfitters? I got his name from a friend. Do you guys have any other recommendations? Snow geese were good up here this year. Actually there has been some good shooting on them quite a few seasons in a row now. It just ended the 29th but I havent had enough.

Thank in advance.

Every yr is different but last yr it seemed that the second half of the season was more productive than the first but hit it on the right days and it can be some of the best shooting a guy can have. Just a question you might ask whoever you choose to go with so your here when its at its best.

Why not use this year as a learning year and drive down early and find your own place to hunt? You will find that to be most rewarding over the long term.

I thought it was private and the guides have most of the land locked up?

It is private but the reason for the hunt was agriculture damage. The area farmers complained to odfw resulting in the private land only hunt. Some people seen this as a way to make money (i personaly feel thats wrong) some people just want damage control for their crops and with some leg work a person may find a place to hunt. By no means do the guides have it all locked .

that i know is not true.. i have been down the last four years and hunt with some friends that live down in the K-town. there is some available areas.. BUT... its a who you know to get permission type of hunt.. all private land hunting only. but it does help to go down early and do some homework.

I did a bunch of leg work to find places to hunt. Had three good spots lined up and then the landowners all backed out because guides went in and offered money for sole access. It was sad because I did all that work to get my older parents and husband in on a good hunt. It was a surprise....that ended badly. I had to tell them the week before that the hunts were cancelled....disappointment was the word of the week.
