Default Sturgeon Report 12/01

Fished near Kelly Point all day. Approx. 15 shakers landed. Lost a nice one and busted nice one off also. Tried smelt, shad, sturgeon sandwich. Smelt and sandwich worked best with scents. Evening bite was better than the morning.

Thanks for the report Corrirod, I've been having the same luck. But I have heard of a good bite out of Chinook Landing since the wind died down.

Good luck,
Andy

Corrirod, we had the same experience last wed. downriver near Longview. Smelt and earthworm oil was the only thing that got bit. Now, for what may seem like a stupid question to you, What is a sturgeon sandwich? I've never heard of this before. Thanks.

Fished again this morning till about 1pm and had the same luck using the same stuff. No keepers, nor did we have any on that we lost though. Largest was 38.5".

steelheadslayer, a sturgeon sandwich is just using sandshrimp and worms all wrapped together using stretchy string. Seems to my best all-around bait but smelt was just as good both days.

Good luck everyone. Hopefully we can find out where all the keepers are hiding!
