LOWER COLUMBIA/LOWER WILLAMETTE/SW WASHINGTON BULLETIN NO. 1
WILLAMETTE MAINSTEM BULLETIN NO. 1
WILLAMETTE TRIBUTARIES BULLETIN NO. 1

...A FLOOD WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED EFFECTIVE UNTIL 400 PM PST SATURDAY
AFTERNOON FOR SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON...THE NORTH AND CENTRAL COAST AND
COAST RANGE OF OREGON...THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY...AND THE CASCADES AND
CASCADE FOOTHILLS OF SOUTHERN WASHINGTON AND NORTHERN OREGON...

A SERIES OF STRONG STORM SYSTEMS WILL BRING HEAVY RAIN TO SOUTHWEST
WASHINGTON AND NORTHWEST OREGON...WITH FLOODING POSSIBLE THURSDAY
AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY. RAINFALL TOTALS FOR WEDNESDAY THROUGH
FRIDAY MORNING ARE FORECAST TO RANGE FROM 2 INCHES IN THE WILLAMETTE
VALLEY TO AS HIGH AS 7 INCHES IN THE NORTHWEST OREGON COAST RANGE AND
NORTH CASCADE FOOTHILLS.

RIVERS WILL BEGIN TO RISE WEDNESDAY. LEVELS ON FASTER RESPONDING
RIVERS...SUCH AS THE NORTHWEST OREGON COAST RIVERS...MAY REACH FLOOD
STAGE AS EARLY AS THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND CREST THURSDAY NIGHT OR
FRIDAY MORNING. LEVELS ON SLOWER RESPONDING RIVERS...SUCH AS THE
TUALATIN AND PUDDING RIVERS IN THE NORTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY...MAY
REACH FLOOD STAGE BY FRIDAY AND CREST FRIDAY NIGHT OR SATURDAY.
FLOODING IS ALSO POSSIBLE ON CREEKS AND SMALLER RIVERS IN THE WATCH
AREA THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.

RIVERS OF GREATEST CONCERN INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
THE WILLAPA ON THE SOUTH WASHINGTON COAST.
THE NEHALEM...WILSON...TRASK... SILETZ...ALSEA...AND SIUSLAW ON THE
NORTH AND CENTRAL OREGON COAST.
THE SANTIAM...MARYS...LUCKIAMUTE...PUDDING...UPPER TUALATIN...
CLACKAMAS...AND JOHNSON CREEK IN THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY.

FLOODING ON THE MAINSTEM WILLAMETTE RIVER IS NOT EXPECTED...BUT HIGH
LEVELS WILL LIKELY IMPACT FERRY OPERATIONS AND ACCESS TO ISLANDS IN
THE SALEM AREA.

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT RIVERS AND STREAMS IN THE WATCH AREA HAVE
THE POTENTIAL TO REACH OR SURPASS FLOOD STAGE. MONITOR THE LATEST
RIVER AND WEATHER CONDITIONS...AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD
A FLOOD WARNING BE ISSUED. FOR RIVER CONDITIONS AND FORECASTS...VISIT
