Hy guys me and my family are u here in port mcneill fishing for salmon and halibut. We are having a bit of a tuff time and was outreaching to the ifishers who may have some experience up here with spots to go and fishing gear. I just got back from Telegraph Cove And had a great time Fishing. Lets see if I can be any help. Salmon, we ran green and white coyote spoons with about 36" leader to a flasher we fished them off bear point and lizard point off Malcolm Island just go to Malcolm east side and look for boats 6am in the morning and get in line. you will need down riggers run them about 80 feet and 100 feet of water.

Next Halibut that will be a little harder to explain. Run out to Numas Island if you have a map look for Georgia bank off numas bank the work the tides we used spreader bars with Salmon belly and octopus best with no drift

Hope this helps if not try talking to the locals they where lots of help for use

red or green hotspot with white hootchie 40-42" behind w 40-50# leader Also fish a variety of depths, follow a respectfull distance from a guide boat and VEER away if they have a fish. Run a variety of depths, start at 45' on down. 2 -2.5 mph. The backside of malcolm asream mentioned is fishy..

As to spoons, I run them farther back on the flasher, say 5'..but Stream has recent fish pics, which always beats my memory.

I would run a small tomic spoon in cop car and something with green or a 602, 602, 232.

If you are comfortable pulling bait, Rhys davis heads and 5-6" anchovies 5-7' behind a hotspot is killer.

Nahhhh you guys, none of those work here.....

If you can find some anchovies, glow green teaser heads, army truck hootchies and green/silver spoons in 4", you will catch fish here.

Right now it is hit or miss, but the bite really comes on around tide change.

gofishone66, I sent you a PM.

Cheers
