I got my Little Chief smoker in 1976. I still use it and have not had to replace the heating element. I guess that makes my smoker 37 years old. WOW...
I still have it in the original box that was to be used for insulating the unit. The box is in rather worn condition, but the smoker keeps on and on.
have had mine about 25 years, original element. When I drug it out last year the wasps had done quite a job peeling the paper off the box for their nests. I just cut out cardboard pieces and applied to the outside with duct tape. Now I have a double insulated box!
I have had mine going on 12 years. Box in excellent insulation shape.
Element is still good but have had to replace cord 3 or 4 times. Old CPU power cords work good..
Loaned mine to a friend and his wife threw it out ... ***! A few months later, the Traeger came i to my life. I know it was still working when she cleaned the garage, but after all those fish it did look a little beat up. Hamed and Samira are not exactly from around here, and didn't understand the smokers place in our culture.
1973. I've replaced the element once and the drip pan is long gone ( I use foil I replace each time ) but it's still working. As a matter of fact as soon as I finish this cup of coffee i'm going to go load it up. We've been doing well out of Noyo the last few days.
