I would appreciate hearing what you have forgotten over the years and would add to the list.
I always to a quick test fire in the driveway...makes sure that you #1 have the boat keys and #2 haven't left something on that drained your batteries.
Nothing worse than getting up at the crack of dawn and racing down to the boat launch to dump a dead boat in the water!
you need another notice to remember to look at that notice.
i just keep most of my stuff on the boat or in a corner. and a bag of stuff that always comes along fishing. so almost all i need is already always packed and cant be forgotten.
A fella I know who is handsome and charming.....more or less perfect in every way really (I don't wanna brag, but I'm a big deal) once made it down to the highway before I figured out I forgot to hook up the boat.
Had everything for the day in the boat mind you. just forgot to hook it onto the Ford.

Most of these things are stored in my boat and ready to go, so all I have to remember is myself and those who will go with me! Saves me some time trying to remember what I need!
After towing a boat from Hillsboro to cathedral park, launching it, parking the truck, corralling the dog to the boat, only to turn the key an hear nothing, no click, nothing. Checking the battery, everything good, tilt worked, radio worked but nothing when I turned the key. Looked at the kill switch and the red pull pin was right in place. After a half hour of messing with it I put it back on the trailer and headed back to Hillsboro. Got home and looked at the back of the kill switch were I noticed one of the two wires had come disconnected. Hooked it up, turned the key and vroom.......... thought I had everything that trip but still came home without fishing or even a boat ride.
