Manistee lures...
I just found Manistee spoons, #5, for $2.06 in a closeout sale. They had smaller ones as well. I bought silver, pearl with pink tiger stripes, silver/blue 1/2&1/2, and rainbow. They didn't have my favorite combo (chartreuse & silver or Chart.& pearl). I think the smaller ones were half the size (maybe #3). Let's pretend I'm coming over to fish the Columbia...Are these things any good? Would the little ones work well for Coho? What size deep six should I run them with? How would YOU rig them....? Thanks in advance for the help .

Re: Manistee lures...
Ive never used them but my buddy was fishing around B10 a week ago and they were not getting or seeing sqwat. He looked in his box to look for some hardware and pulled out a silver Mantasee. He was letting it down and fish on! He got 6 fish on it in about 3 hours. Maybe I better go out and get a couple!

Re: Manistee lures...
Jett'in Fool,
How did he rig it? Behind a flasher/diver, or off a 3 way and dropper? I have never fished spoons like that before...so any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Manistee lures...
He was using lead on a dropper and a Red/Silver Fish Flash snapped on the spreader to 5 feet of leader.
Hope that helped

Re: Manistee lures...
What exactly is a fish flash? and what scent (s) do you use? I know....I'm getting into classified info here... I just want to be ready when I get there.

Re: Manistee lures...
mojo, fish flashes are triangular shaped, plexiglass dodgers with some bends in the tail to make them spin, they have prismatic tape on them to reflect light waves. Alot of guys connect them right to the diver followed by 5 to 8' of leader to the bait or lure.

Re: Manistee lures...
Thanks Fellas.
I have a slight disadvantage, the stores here lack seriously when it comes to big water salmon stuff. My pet store has Coyote flashers, and I figure they might work. Sounds like basically the same thing. There are several flashers and dodgers on the shelf there. I'll have to see what sort of a combination I can put together.
I really appreciate all the help. Maybe I can take you guys fishing when I get over there. Then I could trade a boat ride for the fishing advice.

Re: Manistee lures...
Mojo, look hard for the fish Flash as they are light and have basically no drag in the water. They also put off a big flash compared to other flashers.

Re: Manistee lures...
I'll probably stop on my way over, and hit a fishing store or 4. I realize the "local secret stuff" is that for a reason. I'm not going on a trip like this for one day of fishing. I'll hit Fisherman's or GI Joes. There isn't a decent place to get bait over here either. :depressed:

Re: Manistee lures...
Grabbed a handfull more today. Mostly silverplate. I figure I can either paint them or put Lure Tape on them if I need another color. Now if I can only find Alvins for $2.00......
