Default 45/70 pump action rifle??

I may be way off here, but during a recent trip to Alaska I saw a guy who had a 45/70 pump action rifle in SS and magna ported for bear protection. Time did not allow me to see it up close or determine who made it.

Has anyone seen one of these and do you know who make it? It looked like "bad medicine" for big bears!!

Marlin would be a logical choice, but none can be found on their Web site. I'll keep looking, but the more I think about it, Baltz 526 might have hit the nail on the head. It must be a custom job. No one seems to make a production model.

Regardless of that, I think it would be "cool" to have one, if for nothing else but the uniqueness of owning it!! Lol!

Look out Mr.Grizz, Rusty is on the loose!!

I have the browning 1886 .45-70 Cal, with Oct barrel. Killed me few Caribou, 2 elk, one Gopher ( yes One Gopher), few Jack Rabbits.

When loaded with wild cats, Kicks like a mule, If using Cowboy loads.. can shoot all day long.

Love the rifle. great knock down power.
