Disclaimer: The information I have is purely rumor I heard from a buddy of mine.

I hear-tell that he got in some trouble a couple of years ago and as a result he no longer has a guide license.

He was the subject of an investigation by the Oregon State Police. He had allowed his guide license to lapse and was knowingly continuing to run client trips. As a result he had a date with a judge. Not sure of the outcome on that.

He's a great guy and I am not sure exactly what his reasons were for continuing after his license was lapsed.

He taught me how to filet steelhead back in the day.

He has the "gift". Definitely had the reputation of being one of the best guides in southern Oregon. His story reminds me of a great athlete who has pro potential but ends up flunking out of college. Hope he gets it back together and doesn't waste all that talent.

Was curious (since I enjoy his side drifting video) and found the following old news article:

Canyonville fishing guide arrested

By Dan Bain

Story Published: Jan 23, 2008 at 10:24 AM PST

Oregon State Police have arrested a fishing guide for unlawful guiding practices.

Game Troopers say after completion of an investigation, they arrested 27-year-old Travis Price of Canyonville.
Price was arrested on Page Road in Winchester near the North Umpqua River, after the completion of an illegally guided fishing trip.
Price was charged with seven illegal fishing trips. All are Class B Misdemeanors.
He was cited and released.

Travis is a very nice guy and a very gifted guide. He did lose his guiding licsense for a few years but his suspension should be up. $*@t happens.
If you are interested in fishing with him shot me a PM and i will see if i can find contact info.
