My Brother in law Rick passed away 2 years ago. After a courages fight with cancer. Rick and I and families spent hundreds of hours fishing the John Day for Steelies. I was with him when he caught his last one at the beaver hole. I had to hold him up while he fought and won the fight with the fish. It was a respectable hatchery fish. When he landed it he turned to me and said cut it loose it needs to go home. 3 weeks later Ricky passed he needed to go home.
Now I fish with his sons telling them stories of our trips and adventures of the John Day. It has turned into an annual thing of camping cooking and fishing for all of us. It is a great time. |
