Nothing wrong with a 7' bear. Fur and hide were probably in good shape considering the time of year also. Was BooBoo taken with a rifle? Congratulations!!!

It was a really nice bear, no spring rubs on it or nothing! It really was a nice time and if you want info on the outfitter just let me know. Kimmer

Forgot to answer your question. It was taken with a rifle, a 30/06.

Default Kim Katsion's black bear!!!

This is SO cool!!!

Living in Alaska must be awesome!
What a life!!! I run from them, she shoots them!

Here is a letter and pics I got from Kim at Clam Gulch Lodge.

Hi Jen,

My bear! I was on a vacation that I took before the start of the season last year. I went to Prince George B.C. and hunted with a small outfitter. It was a May spring black bear hunt and it was the most relaxing vacation in a very long time, I even read two books and I have not read two books in five years..... There was six of us and we all had chances at bears, we came back home with three, mine by far was the biggest! Boo Boo as I call him, squared out at 7' 1" which is a very big black bear. His skull measured out at 19 3/16 inches!

We had a great time and now Boo Boo in on the back of a couch waiting til I figure out if I have a wall big enough to put him on. Maybe I will just put him on the bed of guests when they arrive. That would be a good welcome to Clam Gulch Lodge, don't ya think?

Hope all is well with you and the fam.

Kimmer
I feel like she deserves to be on the Ifish Trophy page. Don't you?
