Default My wife's buck (pic)

With a steady rain hitting the house all night long last night, we decided that a walk through the family ranch was in order this morning.

Just a short hike up a skid road, we were in position to glass one of the newer loggings on the ranch.

Right off the bat we see a smaller fork'd horn, along with three does.
We had seen a couple nicer bucks this summer while putting up hay, so my wife decided she wanted to wait.. good call!

As we started walking the rim of the cutting, we jumed five deer, the back one a nice buck. My wife took aim, the buck stopped, giving her enough time and she made a nice shot, some where between 70-90 yards. off hand!

It will be haggin in our den by mid-March

Nice deer! Glad it's going to get a place of honor in the den. Seeing your wife get her deer is one of the greatest hunting thrills there is, isn't it?

Nice shooting, lady.

And nice deer.
