Trap, what is it doing now?
I love this exciting stuff! (As long as no one gets hurt.) Isn't Mother Nature AWESOME?

My neice calls from Oklahoma where her husband is stationed. She is a riot! She grew up here, and she makes people listen while she laughs at the robot man on the radio say:

"Take cover! Take Cover!" When there is a tornado!

She LAUGHS!!!

Allison! Take COVER ALREADY!!!

It's getting dark toward the south and the wind is picking up. We live east of Sandy.

Yesterday we had a T-storm come over us that lasted over an hour. Lightning was flashing everywhere and the thunder was instantanious. The temperature Saturday went from 70 down to 53 in about 90 minutes! Quite a storm for this side of the mountain.

The leading edge just past over us about 10 minutes ago. We are about 10 miles South of Molalla. The sky is dark grey and the wind is just starting to pick up. The dark clouds are lit up with dozens of cloud to cloud lightning.

My son and I just got out of it. We were canoeing down the North Santiam. We barely made it back to our car when the lightning started. Tons of lightning right over head. The leading edge got past us while we were loading the canoe on the van. We didn't get past it again until we were almost in Salem. Near Aumsville we could see it stretching from somewhere just south of Mt. Hood down south probably to Eugene. We had seen a number of thunderstorms forming when we were heading out to the river, and when we pulled out, it looked like they had all connected to form one big one. The rain just obliterated the view of the mountains, and we could see it moving towards us. It may not get bad in the valley, but it sure got bad in the mountains.

Getting dark & windy here in Beaverton. I love this stuff. Reminds me of chasing the storms in Central Oregon and picking up the fires. I've had 2 close calls and still love it!!!

Did you see that Rainbow? Unbelievable! This pic does not do this thing justice....It was a full rainbow so bright that it made the whole inside glow....AWESOME!

I did. Your picture is way better than mine turned out. I don't know that I've ever seen one where the sky is a different color above and below the rainbow. And then to see the lightning in the middle of it was even better.

Looks like the same cloud STGrule captured, from a different angle.

The double rainbow just before the deluge was pretty amazing. I wish my pictures of it had come out better.

Jett'in, I set yours as my background. That's AWESOME!

Someone should send this thread to Rhonda at 2!

Great pictures! I wish I'd have seen that!

Thanks for giving me a peak, though.

I video-d for about 20 minutes last night. I'm pretty sure I got a least three good zig-zag lightning strikes on tape. I'll try and extract some images tonight!!

I am looking directly at Mt. Scott from my front room..
It was flaming last night.
I love this kind of weather.

Has any of you been hit by lightning ?

My Dad, in Gates, said the clouds started circling around pretty good for a little bit. Lightning wasn't all that impressive to him. Said he has seen better.
