Expect a fish with every cast. I did, today! Read the front page!
We got three in about as many hours. I got my first 30 feet from the get go. I got two and Bill got one. It made my face happy, but my body didn't seem to like it. Off to ER, but here is a teaser. Dang... I wanted fresh springer for dinner, SO BAD! Hopefully I'll be home tonight to tell more. I really dislike hospitals!!! ![]() Jen

Beautiful smile for a beautiful fish, Jen! You matched my entire springer season in one morning! It'll be a great evening when I hear that you're home from the hospital and feeling better.

The rest of the story:
I left the emergency room against medical advice. Had to sign a waver. There comes a time when test after test gets really old. I hope I did the right thing. That said... Tim Juarez gave me a lucky spinner! I caught these fish on upper Tillamook Bay on his spinner, with a chartreuse dot on the blade. It was a chartreuse and white spinner with yellow beads. The first was a total slack bite. I reeled up, no fish.. (or so I thought) 3 seconds later a tick tick like a trout. "That's a classic T bay fish!" I thought... Reeled up a bit, no fish... Then... TOTAL SLACK! THAT'S A FISH! I gave it my all and sure enough, there was a chrome beauty on the end of my line. Next fish came fourty five minutes later in the shallows. (About four feet of water) Total slack and total classic T bay bite. Fish on! Funny! I can land a fish sitting down! It's awesome! The first fish I was really good at keeping calm. The second fish I fell back into my "WHOO HOOO!" mode and accidently put the rod butt into my gut to play it. OOPS. :depressed: He was a fighter and wanted to bury his head in the sand like they do, which was odd, cuz it wasn't very deep. You'd think it would be a top water fighter. Nope! Anyhow, I got him! That's what counts. Next fish came after the wind picked up. It was getting nasty out there. I got to do the trolling motor and Bill got to fish. Nice change for him! It's sure hard to set the right speed when you don't have a line out to gauge how fast you should go! Plus, that wind is nasty to keep a straight boat in. I got some good practice time in. Anyhow-- it was a blast. I think we saw half a dozen fish landed in the three hours we were there. Have fun! I'm going to bed. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Jen

I have been having a bummer of a time the last couple of days... (wrong place to go into it in detail) but your picture snapped me out of it. Thank you for posting a picture of a beautiful fish and an equally beautiful person ![]() Your smile is infectious. Thank you.

Jen, awesome fish you and Bill got today! Take it easy though, health is now fish will be here again. We all want you to be here again too. Plus that Bill got one diuring Bounty on the Bay, leave some fish for me. I hope to bonk one or two this coming weekend, will be down there Friday when the sun comes up. Hope to shout at ya, since I missed meeting you at Bounty on the Bay, site had problems on Friday night, saw you there didn't get a chance to say hello though.Talked to Bill a moment on Saturday, he told us of your racing heart, so missed meeting you then too. If I see you and Bill on the wayter I'll give a holler, and save some chrome for me! LOL

Jen, first let me say stay on top of your health but sometimes you just have to get out there right? Believe me I know.
Second you post was exciting to read and very informative to someone that has only fished T-Bay a couple times with no luck. I am coming to the coast for a long weekend and was planning on fishing T-Bay but was questioning my decision based on my Portland Springer experiences :depressed: Do I need any more punishment??? Anyway what I'm trying to say is this is how the board should be used all the time. You get it. I get it. Let's hope everyone will catch on eventually. Information is a good thing to share. Enjoy those fish you are my hero

I've never seen so many scales. The first fish still must have been feeding that day. They just exploded into a celebration of glitter, all over the boat and all over me!
It was so fun! I'm still high. Why do people do drugs? Jen

Nice job Jen....I would bet the trip to the hospital was a small price to pay when you match it up to a quick limmit of 20+ lb, T-bay, spinner caught springers. To many fisherpeople, that is a once in a lifetime dream. Take it a little easier on the "Whoo Hoo's" next time and dont get that heart a racing so fast. Keep up the good work and see ya on the water, tomorrow maybe

Pretty darn good.
Last night I tried it with maple syrup and a bunch of spices. I love having springer around to try different ways. YUM. Can you do anything to ruin it? NOPE! I am so happy that I have a fridge and freezer full! Thank you, God! You make darn good fishies to eat! Jen

Tillamook Bay fishing should be good for spring chinook with this weekend's strong tides. Jennie Logsdon of Tillamook caught two hatchery springers Tuesday within an hour.
