Here's the deal, guys. I have a job in Roseburg, tentatively on March 23. I'm thinking I'd like to bring my Clackacraft with me and fish the lower McKenzie on the 22nd - Maybe and afternoon/evening thing. So, I'd be looking for someone who knows this stretch of river pretty well. I've been down it once, but it's been 3 years. I'm fairly certain the rivers open for trout fishing, but I will confirm.
Any potential takers? CrF

I know I'm still new around here, but I wouldn't mind getting out for a day. Hope it isn't too straight forward of me to jump for an open seat this early.
My schedule for that time is a bit sketchy right now, but i bet i could make an afternoon trip. I've grown up fishing the Mckenzie and Willamete in the Eugene area, and it's all pretty straight forward. I'm guessing you had the hayden-armitage drift in mind for an afternoon trip. I've fished that stretch more times than i can count. I'm pretty sure it's open year round, but you can't take the planters with you till the 4th saturday in april. Can anyone back me up on this? ![]() It couldn't hurt for me to get in good with the regulars on the board anyways, especially when i start asking questions about hosmer .

If it doesn't pan out with Redsider I'd be up for that. PM me when you know more about what you're going to do.

My shedule just got even more sketchy, so don't hold that seat for me. Thanks anyways though.
Now that you got me thinking about it, I'm going to have to spend a day or two trout bumming between the McKenzie and the Willamette living in my truck when finals are over. If you happen to see a guy in a green pontoon don't be scared to say hi (or offer him and his bike a ride back to the put in )

I've fished the McKenzie quite a bit, but never drifted it. If there is still a seat open, I would love to join. I definately have the day off and will be on the river either way. PM in your direction just as a heads up. Thanks for the offer!

Unfortunately, my Roseburg project just got cancelled, so I will not be heading that way after all. Bummer - I was looking forward to it. We'll try again sometime in the near future. Thanks for all the responses.
