Hang in there Miss Marietta... it ain't an easy road for you, but I believe you will be in good shape when you get back.

If the need will still be there, my wife and I would like to make another meal for you and your family after you get back home. Good luck and GodSpeed

Yes. You will understand it better if you have read her column on the "front page" of ifish. It confused me at first.

Take a deep breath and move forward. Then hurry back!

Look back at all the answered prayers and ask yourself if this is beyond God's power. Then hurry back!

If prayers and good wishes could be turned to cash, you could fly the doctors up here.

Jennie flew to California this morning and arrived safely. I think the plan is to get a good night's sleep in the hotel tonight and go in for he fenestration procedure in the morning. I'll update as I learn more.

Ms. Marietta,

Jennie’s tag line, used above, is, “The goal in Life's Journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy moly what a ride!"

I shared with Jennie my Mom’s life motto after she died four years ago. Jennie asked if she could adopt it as it also fit her philosophy: “The joy is in the journey.”

Somehow, I see a convergence of the two mottoes in the way Jennie/Ms. Marietta approaches everything.

Get well, Jennie. We all need you.

The family's phrase for me is "big mushy guy," as I'm prone to developing . . . um, "watery eyes" upon certain occasions.

Now is one of those.

Doing my own cosmic, karmic, mutant form of prayer right now.

Watery eyes?! I've got them! Joy Oh Joy! While the procedure was delayed for reasons unrelated to Jennie, she underwent the procedure this afternoon to restore circulation to her legs and the doctors are happy with the results! I imagine it will take time to get back up to speed, but the procedure was a success! Joy Oh Joy!

(This is a copy and paste of my thread on the front page..!)

Good morning!
I can't believe I am here!
It's kind of scary being anywhere alone, lately. I can't explain it, but it just seems like there are so many darn things that can go wrong. I have to totally rebuild my confidence.
Today I feel the best that I have felt in a while, and I'm almost afraid to trust that, too!
I'm tired easily. I woke up feeling great, singing a song. Now, after breakfast, (which I WALKED all the way too!) I feel like I need a nap! I guess I'm not totally walking on my own, but I use the wheelchair to steady me, not sit in! I'll regain my strength gradually.
Today I have a check up at 1:00 PM, both at interventional radiology and cardiology.
My sister decided that my clothes are frumpy and nothing fits me. Being the 'Nordy' girl that she is, she went shopping yesterday, since I was ordered to bed rest all day. She brought home a plethora of new clothes for me to try on and we had a style show in the motel room! It was a blast!!
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME. It is extremely dangerous, financially!
I had a blast! I cannot believe how TINY I am! There is "air" between my legs!!! Anyhow, I picked out a few things from the several hundred dollars with that I could not live without! Size 8??? NO WAY!
Today, she is going to take the things that I can't keep back while I rest up before my doc appt.
Anyhow, it's fun being able to eat all the butter I want, all the food, and any kind that I want, trying to gain weight... But after my new clothes, I may have to rethink that philosophy, or lose the ability to wear these clothes!!!

Yeah, every doctor that I have talked to say "No more 20-30 fish." :depressed: One even suggested bass fishing. I nearly slapped him.

I don't know what to do bout that, but I'm going to do something. I'm going to figure out SOMETHING!

I linked another thread to my front page column, so I'll go copy this there, too.

Hopefully I'll be home on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Kilchis my Cuteso, and Kilchis the river, HERE I COME!
(And don'tcha know... that thought has tears coming down my cheeks, here in the motel business center. I gotta leave before I make a fool of myself!)

Jen

Just a little bit more. I would say over 40 percent of my body is bright purple bruises. Those people have no mercy! However, the innerds are fixed, to my knowledge, which is a good thing! Now, I'm going to hobble back to my room.

Getting a little better each day!

That's almost all I can manage without tears, lately.
I cannot believe... honestly, the ways that God has shown that He has been with me, for the past week. I'll tell the stories, later, but... it's amazing. I've always thought that I needed billboards put up, to hear what God wants me to do. Well, I nearly got them!
I am walking... slowly, but walking!
I walked all the way to the river, today! Of course, once there, I cried. Happy tears, yes, but still! I'm just so emotional!
I can't believe I am walking. I got to walk to the chickens. I am making dinner for the first time, tonight, and it will be so gratifying to serve it! It's a simple dinner, but I will walk myself, to do it! The boys, no one will have to lift a finger. I will be serving them for once!
The sun shown on the back deck today, and I walked out to sit in the sun! It felt heavenly!
I walked out to the front garden, later, and Kilchis ran all around me. Get that? I walked out there!
I stood up for an entire shower, and then dried my hair, afterwards!
I keep telling myself that I'd better take it easy, or I'll hurt tomorrow. Guess what? I think I'll be hurting. I have no self control with things like this. I just get so excited! I can walk!
I feel pretty good today. I have to go slow, but there is so much I can do that I just wanna do it!!!!

Thank you so so so much for all of your prayers. They were heard! This sure has been a trip.
I used to be grateful for a limit of salmon and think the world of a day when we did that. Now I am so grateful just to open my eyes in the morning!!!! That's so funny, too, cuz I was so worried about my vision. Who cares if I can't see well??? I can open my eyes, and walk!!! WHOO HOOOOOOOOO!

Jen
