If anyone has been reading about the Raw Faith, a galleon, a tall ship, that it's owner, George McKay built by hand as the first wheel-chair-accessible tall ship because his daughter, Liz, has the Marfan syndrome -- it's run into problems and the coast guard has been dispatched to help.
See the story at http://rockland.villagesoup.com/Gove...?StoryID=28600 I'm so sorry it's gotten into trouble!! I hope it's not destroyed.

Notes from their online journal. WHEW!
Message from Long - Thanksgiving Day 11/25/2004 - I received a verbal report from Tina - As of 10am today, the RawFaith galleon was at sea anchor 50 miles off the coast at Portland ME. The report was that she "lost a rudder". It is not known at this time whether the rudder was actually lost or perhaps a rudder cable broke thereby losing the function of the rudder. The coast guard is on the scene and a towing operation is underway. Estimated time of arrival in Portland is 4 PM today. On this Thanksgiving Day, we all give more thanks that the Captain and Crew are safe and we pray for the safe continuance of the RawFaith maiden voyage to Florida.
