Anybody and everybody including lurkers
are invited to an ifish gathering on Saturday April 24 at the North Jetty (Near Coast Guard Tower). I think we have done this 3 years now, making this year the 4th.Sunset will be at 8:50 pm High tide is 5:02 PM 5.8 feet Low tide is 10:05 PM 2.8 feet There should not be much water moving with a 3 foot tide change in the evening. (Slower currents make for easier fishing) For those that have never been to one of these gatherings. We usually have a BBQ starting around 5 - 6 pm +/-. It is a bring your own dinner to BBQ, though in past years there has been enough food to feed a small army. Several hours of swapping stories and meeting other ifishers follows dinner. About the time it gets dark we move to the Jetty to try and catch some fish.Fish any way you want, but typical jetty fishing at night is done with a lantern/headlamp. Medium strength rod and tossing and retreiving lead headed jigs with rubber worms of some sort. 1/4 to 1/2 ounce jigs are pretty typical with 3 to 5 inch rubber twisty tail jigs. A bucket is nice for holding your catch. We assemble at the coast guard tower at the North Jetty at Barview. Just north of Garibaldi turn by the Barview store, go thru Barview campground staying left till you get to the jetty. I will see if I can get a couple bushels of oysters again to cook on the BBQ ![]() Dress appropriately, and walking on the jetty can be dangerous. If you plan to come, please post up so I will know I wont be there alone. I look forward to meeting some more ifishers. It would also be nice if you can bring the sunshine with you so we dont get rained on.

Roy - how could we miss this? We'll figure out someway to be there. Might have to sell something to pay for the fuel, but wouldn't miss that oyster-fest. See you there.

Guess I will take a weekend off from Springer fishing and bring my wife to the get together. We love to Jetty fish and I think we have tried it there once but not at nite, sounds like a blast. We will probably come up Fri nite so does any one know if the camp grounds at Barview are first come first serve?

Always so much Fun at the Jetty BBQ!!
I regret missing it last year. Oyster are always better at the beach. Sea Bass for breakfast would be good. This year I am trying heavy jigs and injecting scent into rattlnig flying lure I bought off the home shopping channel. |

The beach is lovely! We have sunshine and about 60, now. It's gorgeous! The evening should be beautiful!
The chocolate cake is next! I've been gardening and doing kid things this morning. I can't wait to see you all, there! Jen

Doh! Judyfish! I didn't see your message till now!
I had hats, too! Anyhow, send me your addie, and I'll get one to you! BOE, thank you SO much for doing this! It brought many smiles to me, and to Bill, both! You are a trooper. I couldn't help but wonder, and feel guilty about not helping to clean up. Was it easy this year? We should do a clean up crew next year. I volunteer to help! I love this event! Just the right amount of people! ![]() Jen
