Default Pioneer hunting/fishing license

I just applied for and received a free "pioneer" lifetime hunting and fishing license. You have to be 65, and have lived in Oregon for at least 50 years.

BTW I am a pioneer. I came to Oregon with the first wagon train

Er...uh...I guess that was my Great-Great Grandfather pictured below, not me . (What's kinda spooky is how much I look like him)

I get a real kick out this picture. He looks ready for action! Two pistols in his belt, and a sword! Turns out some things are genetic

My grandpa gets the same. He's lived in Oregon all 70 years he's been on this earth.

Would like to see ODFW do a pioneer Sportspac, where they give a discount on all the tags combined, similar to the regular Sportspac. Not sure I will still buy cougar, bear, duck and turkey tags, since I don't target them. Have used a few of those tags, however.

Is it lifetime or do you have to renew each year?

I got mine two years ago. It is lifetime but you do renew each year. Just go to any license outlet and you get the fishing, Hunting license and a parking permit for places like Sauvies Island.

The same with my disabled vet (service connected 25% or more) free fishing license It is lifetime but every year I have to go to a retailer and get a new one
Still have to pay for a harvest card
This year I turn 65 and have lived in Oregon all my life
So since I qualify for both should I get a free harvest card also?
