Default Yamaha F115 Fuel Filter

How often do you folks change your fuel filter on your yamaha F115s? I also have a water/fuel seperater but I was thinking that I probably should change the one in the engine. I looked them up online and I am not sure what I need. If is just the element filter you replace or what. Has anyone done this on their own and know what the part number is? I know the one on my T8 you just throw away the whole thing and replace but on the 115 I don't think this is the case.

Thanks,

On page 59 of my F115 manual it says to remove the filter element and wash in solvent, allow to dry. Inspect the O-ring and element to make sure they are in good condition, replace if necessary. Inspection is required at 10(1 month) hours, 50 hours(3 months) and then every 100 hours(6 months).

My F8 says to check the filter for foreign material and if any found, replace the filter. The inspection times are the same as the 115.

I was changing the fuel filter in my 115 Yamaha every six months until my boat mechanic said that I should just replace it every year unless there were other issues. I have the fuel/water seperator with the see thru bowl, Rancor I believe. I check it frequently for water and so far, there hasn't been any. I change it annually also. Since I'm not sure what filter element you have in your F/W seperator, I suggest that you remove it, drain it and take it to your boat shop to ensure getting the correct one.

Only once in 10 years, just carefully pop's it in place, making sure the o ring is sealed properly.
