I think the courts should pay him and his wife 35k and send them on a all paid vacation for a month for actively trying to control a invasive predator

It's amazing that there are 9 or 10 packs in WA. But somehow only, what, 2 or 3 in Oregon? Incredible!

So what about the other charges for poaching deer, moose, and bear? These were a bunch of hard core poachers who got off way too easy!

I wonder at what point he decided it would be a good idea to try and ship a bloody hide to Canada?

Where exactly do you see this info?? The only thing I see in the article is for wolves. Source please.

But to answer your question they should be held accountable for the deer and moose, if your information is true, and should be punished to the max of the law.

With the restrictions we face and the unhealthy predator populations we face today, I am sorry but I cannot fault anyone for shooting a predator when they get the chance.

The Wenatchee World,, Spokesman Review and Methow Valley newspapers had the whole story about all the other poaching charges.

I think the Wolf and bear charges should be dropped and nail them on the others.... Just my opinion.

So how's that work....folks can just pick and choose what laws they feel like complying with, then expect a free pass when they get caught? Seems to me we have enough problems in society with people not taking responsibility for their actions and blaming everyone else but themselves for their dumb-azz decisions.

I simply feel that we should have a shoot on site policy with predators right now until we get the populations back down to healthy levels and the invasive predators (wolves) be eliminated. I know it is not right, the law is the law. I nail people almost weekly on different charges that I may or may not agree with, the above is just how I feel about predators nothing more.

Poachers are poachers but I find myself less upset at wolf poachers. They still broke the law regardless.

Don't understand all the "Hero worship" that is being heaped on these poachers. Does everyone really think they are only shooting wolves ?
They're not doing "Good deeds" for your admiration and praise.
They are doing lots to harm anyone and anything involved with shooting sports and hunters, in particular.

Poaching is poaching, these criminals need to be punished.

The Methow wolf pack has been shown to be genetically unrelated to any of the Yellowstone wolves; they are of western B.C. origin. While wolf sightings have occurred over many decades in northern Washington this was they first known pack in many decades to establish a den and territory in WA. The wolves north of Spokane are more closely related to the Yellowstone wolves although the genetics are now mixed with BC wolves. Thus, even without the Yellowstone introductions they were already headed this way.

We'll just close this one down for awhile so that the Moderators can enjoy their weekend and not have to keep coming in here to clean-up the language, personal attacks, suggestions of illegal activity, etc. Ifish Staff
