04/09 Newport salmon report

Had the opportunity to fish with one of my best friends and took it on short notice.

We put one keeper salmon in the boat in about 90' of water south of Newport and about 1/2 way to Seal Rock. Diver, flasher, hoochie combo. Nothing else worked either.

Ron m had one in the boat when we talked to them, but I don't know how they ended up as they went in before we did.

So-so ocean in the late morning but by the time we came in at 5PM the wind had almost completely died and it had really flattened out.

Several commercial boats working the area as well.

Was the bar open all day or was it restricted again prior to tide change?

Bar open all day to over16 feet. Ron m & I ended up with two in the box
We are going out again tomorrow.

Steve and i went out sunday and quit trolling just shy of seal rock. Saw a few limits come in while we were cleaning our lings. They were by waldport.

We are going out for the first time this year on Sat.

SAT...NW WIND 5 TO 10 KT. WIND WAVES 3 FT. W SWELL 12 FT
