I imagine the "end" sign was form yesterday's work. The "ahead" sign is for today's work and the ODOT guy in the background was there planting one and taking out the other. So, they're starting from where they ended yesterday. I bet within a few minutes of this picture the "end" sign was headed down the road to where they're ending today's work.

Plenty of work to do on Six during the winter. How they manage to keep it open as much as they do is beyond me.
