Official Oregon Tuna Classic dates for 2010

The OTC is happy to announce that Ron Brockmann, a Allstate Agent with offices in Corvallis and Salem and IWISH on ifish, is the title sponsor for the 2010 season. Ron was the major portion of the sponsorship in 2009 and we are very grateful for his committment to these events and the cause.
We feel very fortunate to have a title sponsor who not only gives of his financial resources but someone who is involved as well. Ron was on a team last year that fished all the events and when he had time was helping with the setup and take down on those weekends.

The dates for next summers events are as follows:

Newport......July 17th.
Ilwaco........July 31st.
Charleston..Aug. 14th.
Garibaldi.....Aug. 28th.

We will stage the events in a big tent like we used this past summer and the Garibaldi event will be the season finale and will again include a silent auction as well as a oral auction...If you missed this then you missed a lot of excitement and a good time as witnessed by over 500 hundred people who were there.

For those that made the events in 2009 we thank you for supporting the cause and hope to see you again in 2010.

We are currently renewing and securing our sponsors for the upcoming season.

We will have a booth in the Eugene Sportshow in February on the 5th, 6th & 7th and again in The Pacific Northwest Sportshow in Portland on February 10th-14th. We will also be opening the registrations during that time and you will be able to come by the booth and sign up.

In the next couple weeks we will give you more information and update our website.

I am so glad to have had the opportunity to participate with the 2009 OTC and to be back for 2010 is even better.

This event is such an amazing event in what it does for everybody. Not only for the local communities and the families that really need the help but also for the people involved. It makes us take time out to realize how fortunate we all are. Not everybody will take the time to volunteer and help somebody out, but combining it with this great event allows us all to take part. I know from when I first started to where I am now, I am much more involved with this event and hope to be even more next year.

A huge thanks also to all the sponsors. I am only a small piece in this big pie. There are so many sponsors that help out with both financial and product donations to continue to make this event what it is.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to sit in on the board meetings this past year and hear what these people do on behalf of all of us. The time and resources they all put into these events would really surprise many of us. From the Chairman down to the people that can help out with just one part of one event, everybodies help makes this event the great success that it is.

Here's to a successful 2010 tournament series.

He'll likely be strapped down to the deck of a Delta but at least he's fishing!

Thanks for the dates.
As an aside, will there be photos placed in the photo window of the OTC website? I periodically look for pics, and see the 'coming soon' icon showing.
It's understandable if they don't come, I just need to train myself to stop looking

They will be coming...we rebuilt our website last spring and had to scramble to get things to the point we could take registrations and now we're in the process of working on the remaining details which includes getting the photos on there..

Keep looking we'll get them there...

Those dates are on my calendar for next year.

There is a conflict with the Hood to Coast on Aug. 28th, but I'm pretty sure my wife and I can find a sitter.
