Default Our Family Needs Household Items

Hard times this past year and unemployment forced our family to uproot, sell our belongings and move in with family. Now things are finally looking up and we are going to be moving into our own place soon....problem is, we sold a lot of our belongings and with the move and holidays cannot afford much. We are a family of 6 and could use a helping hand. If you are looking for a way to pay it forward, we could really use it and would be so grateful. In need of living room furniture, dressers, bunkbeds and could use various other household items, an upright freezer and warm boy childrens clothes/winter coats in various sizes (3,6,8-10 and 14-16).

Thanks and God Bless.

**UPDATE** Just in case you don't catch it on the bottom post. We will be borrowing a trailer for Sunday Nov. 15th and can make arrangements to pick up the items. Please give us a shout if you will be available. PM or call one of us at the numbers below.

What ages are the boys individually?
We have some extra clothes and jackets, possibly some toys or games too.
Post for all and I'm sure we can come together and make some good things happen!

Thanks again for all the support. Wanted to let everyone know just in case it matters for picking up items....we won't be moving until Dec. 1st so as far as furniture goes, we have no place to store it until we move. Please let me know if this is an issue in items that need to be gone before that date.

Thanks.

I doubt this will help you but I just thought of it. I have a house in Northern Minnesota that is a nice house but the market sucks and it is listed for sale for 30k right now. Its 4 bedroom in a small town walking distance to the golf couse and about a hour from Lake of the Woods which has some of the best walleye, pike, and musky fishing around. I doubt you are able to pick up and move that far but if you are interested let me know.

We are so overwhelmed by everyone's generosity that our heads are spinning. What a wonderful group of people. We are so appreciative of all of your offers!! I apologize if I have not yet responded to anyone yet.

If anyone has an large upright freezer and would like to trade for a large chest freezer let me know. Our big one won't fit in the new place very well!! Also could use a microwave if someone has one lying around.

Ok you guys are INCREDIBLE!! We have found a place to store some stuff so we are going to try and make a run this weekend to the Boring/Gresham/Troutdale/PDX areas. If you have contacted us from these areas and will be around for pick up this weekend, please let me know. If by any chance we could organize a central meeting spot/time, that would be even better as we will be towing a trailer large enough to pick up furniture. The overwhelming response has me scrambling to figure out where everything is and how and when to pick it up. If one or both of the Beaverton people could meet us too, that would be great!!

We hope to one day return the favor and continue paying it forward. There is always someone less fortunate that could use a hand.......

Man this thread almost brings a tear to your eye..... what a great group of folks (yeah even you TwoFister )

We are just buying our first home, so I don't have a lot to offer at this point. But I do have a pickup and don't mind taking a drive out to Sandy if someone has something that they are giving but can't make the drive.... I live in Wilsonville.

Please PM me if I can help out in some way.

Russ,
Great to meet you, and I hope you'll be able to use all the goodies. Sounds like you you all are on your way to getting back on your feet.
Congrats on the new job, we wish you success with that.

Say hi to your dad for me, and best wishes for the holidays to you, Heather,
and the boys.
Brad

Thanks again for all the generosity and MX Racer 105 if you think reading this brings a tear to your eye....you should be in our position. We are overwhelmed and unbelievably appreciative of everything these great ifish members are doing to help out a fellow ifisher. We could never have asked for a better group to be a part of. Shoot me a note and let me know where you're at with kids clothes and toys. I can pitch in on that effort with ease.....8 year old boy has grown out of more nice clothes than he's ever worn! Toys to, just let me know.

WOW! This has got to be one of the greatest group of people in the world!

I wish I could help out, but Unfortunately I can't at the present time. It does sound like you are well on your way as far as clothes, toys and furniture goes. Again,

But, what about YOU! I know first hand how much stress a situation like this can have on someone.

You are more than welcome to join me on a nice relaxing float for winter steelhead, once you get settled. Just let me know. All you need to do is show up! I have everything else we would need.

Best wishes to you and your loved ones, this holiday season!

(Jennie, look what you have done!)

Now I don't know what kind of stuff there is, but there is a website called "e-cycle" or "recycle" that has lots of free stuff...you might try to find that website and check it out. Also, Craig's list sometimes has "free" furniture, etc...probably not "top drawer" stuff but good enough to get you through for now...I just gave away a nice oak magazine lamp table...grrrr. Would have much rather sent it your way. We have a grandson that's 6 yrs old...tall and skinny. If you have kids around that age, let me know...I'm thinking there's toys and clothes available.

If anyone has an large upright freezer and would like to trade for a large chest freezer let me know. Our big one won't fit in the new place very well!! Also could use a microwave if someone has one lying around.
I have a very nice microwave that is in my garage and has not been used for years. Not sure how to get it to you though.

We are sooo bad about keeping things around we don't need or use...We just don't have a place to store em. I'm always making a trip to GW. NOW...I wish I had some place to store things so I could pass them on to someone here on IFish in need. Too bad we don't have a central location that folks could donate their "good" used stuff to be dispersed when the need arises.
