Default Fall fishing along Alaska Hwy.

Going to help my buddy drive a truck he is buying down here up to his home in Fairbanks. We will be leaving November 12th. I'm just wondering if anyone has some 411 on where the best area to fish would be. I would like to fish before we hit the ice and snow so I assume somewhere in B.C. I would be hoping for something just off or on the side of the road. I see we will be along the Frasier river but I would rather fish a smaller stream. Also if you have any books or web sites to recommend I'm up for doing some research. Thanks, Justin

My wife and I made that trip in '85. There is a book called "Mile Post". If this is your first trip on the AlCan... the mile post is a must. It tells you mile by mile what to look for and what the sights are. We past more fishing spots than I could list but we made the trip in early October. You'll likely have more weather this time of year.

God speed...

Most likely at that time of year it will be full-blown winter with things frozen up.

You might be able to find some fishing in sothern BC or coastal BC but once you get a few hundred miles north of the border you are gonna be ice fishing. Be safe on the drive its a long one.

Absolutely must have a copy of the Milepost! This is a very comprehensive listing of anything along the way. This includes gas, lodging, camping, waysides......Made this trip after 9/11 when we had to buy a car to get home. Awesome!

Remember to have an "Enhanced Drivers License" or your passport to avoid any issues at ports of entry.

Probably the most awe inspiring trip we have ever made. Looking forward to doing it again.
