I'll give you a report when I get back later today. Was out there 2 weeks ago. Fishing was easy -- 2 limits in 1 hour. Fishing from shore should be good too. We caught all of ours close in. Chartreuse powereggs & worms both worked for us. We are doing some trolling today. Hope to catch something a bit larger.

It was a beautiful day at Hagg today. Got 2 limits of trout, 10"-14". One of the 14"ers was really fat. Caught 3 trolling, 7 still fishing with pink & chartreuse powereggs.
It was awesome to see a group of young people walking the shore picking up trash.

2 limits off boat ramp A in an hour or so, all good sized and caught on chartreuse power bait. One on the fly.

Were you fishing at boat ramp A or did you launch there? Just curious, I'm thinking of taking my little girls out again this weekend. We fished down at the Scoggins Creek end and had a few bites and 1 keeper trout,.

To the left of the dock from land, definitely a great place to take your kids if they hold up there.
And they will, going again this saturday. Last edited by SafariSam; 11-05-2009 at 08:53 PM. |

Thanks I appreciate it.
I know the rain is a comin' so it may move 'em around a little. I haven't fished out there too much, just a little in the summer time and my 3 girls caught some bluegill & perch and then last weekend my 9 year old caught the 12" trout, How deep are you droppin' under bobber? I know the water is cooling down & the fish aren't as deep as they had been over the summer (plus they stocked 16000 or so - that helps). Thanks again. John |

We weren't using bobbers, but i guess that would be easier for your girls. We just threw some weight on and a hook and fished the bottom, got nibbles every cast.
OK, put some sliding weight on and some pink power eggs and throw that line out there. Caught some 16 inchers on Saturday. Last edited by SafariSam; 11-08-2009 at 01:51 PM. |

I know this may be a little late for your question joef but the kids & I have been fishing near the Scoggins Creek "mouth" and have had pretty decent success over the last couple weeks. Particularly for the amount of time spent there. Hope you have/had some good success...

My son and I picked up 11 in about (Kept 9 released 2) 4 hours trolling wedding rings behind a sling blade. Missed at least another 1/2 dozen bites. Fished opposite ramp c. To bad it closes this weekend.
