I've seen alot of carp, suckers and turbot caught at the inflow, but no cats. I would be leery about eating anything out of that lake!

Someone told me that shad come into the lake so I tried it with tiny jigs and caught a bunch of smolts [all released].

There is a slough off the C up Fruit Valley road where the catfishing is supposed to be pretty good. That might be a better bet.

There are LOTS of cats (brown Bullheads) in V lake. Caught thousands as a kid with my dad and uncle. Nice size to. During early spring when the water is up and floods the feilds, fish right in the fields as the cats come in to feed on the drowning worms. You can catch buckets full.
