Default Crawdad Traps

Anyone know of where I can pick up some decent sub $30 crawdad traps locally? I've checked GI Joe's and Sportsman's with no luck. (At least none in stock)

Thanks in advance!

I made my own crawfish traps. It's not to difficult and the material can be bought at Home Depot or Lowes.

They are a simple trap and easy to construct. With a pair of pliars and tinsnips and the right material you can make all you want.

But they are for sale on e-bay if you want to go that route or many other places on the internet.

Good Luck

Cabela's has always carried them. This part of the country never has been a big 'dad producer as our water aren't very fertile.

Okie is right.

Just make your own, it's easy and you can make different styles. If you have kids have them help. They will love it. We've made about 15 over the last 10 years or so and the cost is around $6.00 each..

Have fun..

There is a guy up in WA that makes traps for commerical use that I have bought many from over the years. IMO they are the best trap made, google Terry Bullard crawfish traps.

Thanks all. I ended up building one similar to Terry Bullard's and it came out pretty nice. I'm hoping to test it on the Washougal river soon...hoping there's some crawdads in there. Thanks again!

Making your own from poultry wire is thevway to go.

For bait, I highly recommend beef liver.
It is vert tough and milks more and more blood scent as the Crayfish in the trap work on it.
