There's alot of good opinion and debate going on about eastside and westside.... and we all agree that the ODFW folks run things well.... but....

Is something missing from this conversation? Sauvies has 3 units... Westside, Eastside, and the North Unit..... North is open everyday...... No ODFW organization.... hunt where you get........

North is on my list of places to scout, does anyone hunt North?

???????????????

On the subject of more blinds, when we were kids we wrote a letter to ODFW on what we thought was a good idea....(and never heard back, so maybe it's not a good idea)
Develop North Unit more. There is a lot of real estate out there. I know that idea will upset some people, as it is nice to have 7 days a week. On the other hand, often times you have 2 guys in a boat somewhere, a crowd on Cunningham near the parking lot (stuck in the mud), and maybe another Lone Ranger out some where he found while he was lost the first time he went to North Unit. Not well utilized.
Some signs, and maybe a road & parking lot that goes futher North? More guys out there would allow everyone to spread out more, and will take some of the pressure off everything else.
No matter what the system on the island, let's face it, the root of the gripe is not getting your spot often or easy enough.

Not us, that's for sure. Even when we were guiding, we never leased any property and always welcomed anyone to hunt with us or in the same field- their choice.

More blinds (far enough apart!!) great!!

There are some areas that get little or no pressure, that could have some added blinds.....HHhhhmmmmm (less people on the big "C"!!!

On the other hand, more guns, more people, more whining.......Leave it alone...

Hello Dave: Out of curiosity, what percentage chose to hunt across the same field instead of with you? Hunting across from you might be more frustrating than the 3 digit poker chips on the West side....

Just playin'

No thanks. I mean, I don't mind being "humbled" a bit...but the retina burns from the sun shining off all your bands is something that I just couldn't handle.
