I always used sno seal,or sno coat.Seemed a lot better than the aluminized sealers.Scrape off any flakey or peeling stuff first. Then I wash with vinegar,or water vinegar mix.

Let dry real well.Apply sealer.

I put on a hot melt roof last summer. It is in a roll that has granular material like three-tab with a thick layer of tar on the back side. It is applied with a propane torch and once layed down will be waterproof forever. If need be it can be lifted off but will stay in place unless towed behind a phantom jet.
Took four hours to lay down on a forty footer andset me back a hundred and fifty bucks total.

That would sure make a difference on how you do it and what you use.

I know you don't want to put anything that's not compatible with rubber on a rubber roof. My dealer said no silicone.

I've been involved with RV's a long time, so maybe I Can help. Post a note or send a PM as to what you have now or post a picture. It makes a BIG difference if you want it to last.

One thing positively if you have bare aluminum, listen to "HntnFsh" about a 50/50 white vinegar wash to etch the surface. Nothing works as well to clean & prep it for the $$$
