![]() Springer tonight! FINALLY! Just goes to show you... NEVER give up hope! EVER! ![]() Dang, that's fun! But, dang it was windy out there! I'm even getting not so afraid that they'll kill me! In fact, it didn't even occur to me that I shouldn't be doing this! Actually, it wasn't even stressful on me. It hit and came right at me and we netted it way before it was ready! Tee hee... Hey! It was in position, so why not? It didn't fight very good, really. Just hit and came bumping in to Momma! Hereeeeeeeeeeeeeeee dinna dinn dinnnnerrrrrrrrrrrrr! Caught on my beautiful Lamiglas 80 MBC. I love that rod! It's so easy for me to manage. It's the pro bouncer series. I just adore it. I caught the fish near high slack going with the tide. (And wind!) and had it on the bottom, working it up and down, you know... like you do. Cut plug herring, froze, thawed, froze and thawed again. Really crummy bait! But you know what my saving grace was? GUESS!!! Anything with Marie's Shrimp Scent catches fish! Jen

Oh yeah. It's 25 pounds on the dime.
(Did you hear about those new money saving tires? They not only stop on the dime, they stop and pick up the dime!)

You mean you got your very first springer this year? Wow! That's great!
I've caught quite a few springers, but this year I haven't put in my time. I always figure about the 8th through 10th hour each season I'll get my first springer of the year. Sure enough, this was trip three, about hour 7 and whammo! Fish on! You know what they say... You'll never forget your first, though! Jen

That's a keeper of a pic!
Glad you scored, and such a tremendous fish to break the ice with...looks like the bigger ones are moving in (or being blown in by the wind)

Jen, Let me get this straight, you were using crappy herring bait, thawd, froze, then thawd again with
Marie's Shrimp Scent and THEN you caught the Springer??????? So if I used some of my crappy ugly herring and JUST PUT ON Marie's Shrimp Scent I could catch one just like you did? Dennis, get the boat ready...![]() LOL ![]() MW

Excellent fish Jennie!!! I've been trying to cook up a trip to Tilly (from Pdx) for the past couple of weekends, hoping that a bite would turn on. I've been watching the reports over this week, and haven't seen too much action. Your thoughts?

Jen,
I read your story about Dee Dee, poor thing. My cat died last October 23rd and her symptoms were somewhat the same. Our cat "Midnight" was 16 years old, been with us since the start when we first moved here. The vet came and saw her. Said they could operate but the outcome wouldn't get better. We all love our pets indeed. And We Miss HER SOOOOO much. Midnight was a black persian long hair. What a cat she was. We have so many stories about her, too many to begin writing here. Hang in there and I'll be sure to say a prayer for you all and Dee Dee. ![]() MIDNIGHT Maries Cat ![]() May She rest in Peace ![]() Den & Marie
