Is it too early to start sending in the reports? I know there a couple Ifishers reporting some catch already. I'm getting by boat ready as I write. What was the projected return for the Willy this year? 60K? Good luck to everyone out there this year!
Some more bad news it's probably a winter king the cow gets a few as does the NFL. Also Chief caught a twenty pounder off Nehmi's over a week ago. The good news is there's Kings in the river :meme:
We don't have smelt runs anymore so de-bunks that theory! Lol just a joke. I rigged my rods this weekend. Tied my leaders and set em up on the leader rollers, com'on February!
Yup time to put the 8-12 rods away and pull out the 12-25 rods what is strange is why did Phil & Roger take the pick @ the CR launch when the fish was caught @ BC 20 miles up river
First of all, fresh Springer caught on the fifth of January is VERY tasty!:food: ....AS for how the fish was caught, free drifting at BC with about 40 of our closest friends.
I'm going out tomorrow to get a feel for this barb less fishing. Spent a good part of an hour pinching the barbs down, sore hands now. I'm going to wait on the rest, doing the PU (pinch and use) while in the boat. When they start selling the barb less I'll change out my plugs.
That's good. Springer is definately better eats. This early of a springer I would think would be WWWAAAAYYYY more red, fatty and firm but either way nice catch
5 cent. Did you not see the big white cooler.Fish was in cooler on ice and pull out a minute before my first attempt at eyefish's fillet o fish. If that was a fall fish it would be a tule And it's not a winter chinook they don't rear winter at the salmon hatchery. So lets look at it this way. What did that fish eat when it was out at sea? If it was eating herring the meat would be red right, but if it was eating krill the meat is going to be paler.
I forgot to give you a great big:applause: for the first springer of the year Duckslayer. You Oregon boy's sure get jealous when us Washington guys out fish you.:flowered:
April when the dogwoods bloom. And the smell of spring time is in the air.And the smell of fresh springer on BBQ.
