Re: Anybody run the new 200 HP Yami OB yet ?

I hope you mean two of them. One isn't going to get it done for what most of the guys on here want to do with a 24 nr.

Re: Boat barn / garage

30' isnt very deep, make it deep enough and tall enough for your next boat. Going tall and longer now is much cheaper than later. Dont sweat power/water that can be added at anytime.

Re: Transom / Offshore bracket

The cost of the mods you are proposing will be much higher than the value of the boat, not a good idea IMO unless this is your dream boat and plan to keep it a long time.

Re: trailer brakes?

For salt use, get Kodiak stainless calipers, with disks, bearings, mounts, hardware they are around $200 a wheel for the 10". You don't need a new actuator to install disks, but the residual valve in...

Re: Yamaha F225 timing belt replacement

You must have the older f225, '06 and later its $260 retail. Even 100 is outrageous, similar belt for automotive v6 is $40.

Re: Yamaha F225 timing belt replacement

Have you purchased the belt yet? Prepare to be bent over, I just bought one, the zuk timing chain sounds pretty good right now.

Re: Westport report 7/10

Typical run from Westport is 35-60miles, we don't get tuna at 20 miles like you guys get down there. BUT we have live bait, I'll run 60 miles over 20 any day if I can use live bait!

Westport report 7/10

Ran SW from WP today, trolled south from 46 34x125 00 in green but fishy looking water, found a pocket of fish at 46 31x125 06, put 10 on there mostly with live bait. That died and trolled south,...

Re: Clam Slammer is heading out again! (westport)

A wise move, that morning ebb is not one to be learning the bar on. It can be crossed early or late with no problem, maybe even during the ebb with low swell conditions. Best time to cross is at...

Re: Seattle Advice

If you want to catch, the coast is your best bet. Not much happening around the Seattle area unit mid July for salmon. I wouldn't take the day off this time of year to fish here. Now if your just...

Re: Ford Truck question

Coils are a common issue on those engines. So are transmission issues, given your symptoms I would lean toward transmission.

Re: Ready to drop the hammer on some Tuna!

IMO keep your Striper on the trailer and stay flexible, that way you can launch and fish where the fish are. Last year Ilwaco was better early to mid season, westport lit up late in the season. I...

Re: Oregon Halibut season??

Couldn't agree more with Nalu. The days if heading to the coast for a week of hali are long gone. The limited openings require a flexible schedule and short trips. Back when we got more days and/or...

Re: Furuno NavNet 3D

Make sure you have the newest charts before making any comparisons. The included charts have undergone several revisions. The latest is version 4 I believe.

Re: CR tuna 9-13

How late did you stay? We were in that same area, things went wide open on bait around 5 pm for us, ran out of bait and arm strength about 7pm. Late season sometimes means late bites.
